Kate Battenfeld
Kate owns and operates Joyful Jumping Music Together in Carlsbad, Vista and Oceanside. She has an extensive background in early childhood education and music, and has been teaching Music Together® since 1999. She has a Master of Education in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA and has also earned her Music Together Certification I status for excellence in the field of early childhood music education. Presently, she is a candidate for Music Together Certification II.
In addition to her work with Music Together, Kate serves as the music educator for Buena Vista Elementary School in Carlsbad, and is a freelance music and education writer. From 1999-2007, she was the director for Music Together centers in Lexington and Winchester MA. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, performing, and recording music.
She resides in Carlsbad with her husband, two cats, 1 guinea pig, six fish, 3 guitars, and two children, ages 9 and 12.

Kristin Kirwan
Kristin completed her Music Together training in December 2009, and is now a licensed Music Together teacher. She is also a seasoned Music Together mom who has attended a number of sessions with her daughter. Her lovely voice, calm demeanor and understanding of young children's development are just a few of the reasons that she is a wonderful teacher, and we are thrilled to have her teaching Joyful Jumping Music Together! Kristin has a doctorate in linguistics and is particularly interested in the connection between early music exposure and development of language and music skills.
